Chocolate Ferris Wheel

When I told my husband I was going to make a chocolate carousel he said "a ferris wheel and roller coaster too?" Sorry, no ferris wheel or roller coaster. The carousel was hard enough. The first one out of dark chocolate sort of just melted as I was trying to put it together since it was 90 degrees and humid yesterday. My daughter Sunny told me that she read San Francisco is the center of the chocolate universe so with revived spirit I set to work again. Fate was on my side; last night and this morning it was much cooler, so the second try out of white chocolate is better. There's a smaller version carousel too, that might be well suited to a small cake topper. It's all in a chocolate day's work, and of course, the best thing about chocolate work is melting down and reincarnating or simply eating the mistakes.

More cupcakes Incognito

Neapolitan was always my favorite ice cream as a kid. Now the neapolitan memory has manifested as a cupcake...with nuts and a cherry on top of course. A cupcake is the perfect size for a birdy nest.

Cupcakes in Disguise

Cupcakes are fun to dress mine up in all kinds of disguises. What could bring out the kid in you more than a carousel horse cupcake? You'd think the Sonoma mascot would be a grape, but it's a cow...hence the Sonoma Cow cupcake.. The Princess' skirt hides a chocolate cupcake. The scrumptious chocolate fondant fan cupcake is a takeoff on the design by Mich Turner for Paul and Heather's wedding cake.
